Baggage allowance and prices for your route

Check the exact baggage allowance and extra baggage fees for your specific route and travel class.

Arrange extra checked baggage

You decide how many kilos of hold baggage you’d like to bring. After booking your ticket, you can still buy additional items of checked baggage (up to 23 kg per item) via My Trip. When purchasing it at least 24 hours before departure, you’ll pay:

  • between EUR 20 and EUR 70 on flights within Europe;
  • between EUR 30 and EUR 240 on intercontinental flights.

Want to purchase extra checked luggage within 24 hours before departure? You can still arrange it online via My Trip, but you will now have to pay the fee for excess baggage.

Are you a Flying Blue member?

If you’re a Flying Blue Ultimate or Platinum member, you can bring 2 extra pieces of checked baggage free of charge on KLM and Air France flights. As a Gold or Silver member, you can always check in 1 extra item of baggage for free on these flights.

Excess baggage fee

Before you leave for the airport, make sure that your luggage meets the requirements to avoid any unwelcome surprises. If you did pack a little more than expected and it turns out that your baggage is heavier or larger than allowed, we’ll have to charge an excess fee.

The maximum weight and size of excess baggage is 32 kg and 300 cm (length + width + height).
